Privacy Policy
Bible Master and its family of apps (jatapp). Last updated: October 15, 2026.
Data we collect
- Without an account: an anonymous device identifier and your trivia scores (for the global leaderboard).
- With a Google account (optional): your Google name, email and profile photo, and the messages you post in the community chat.
What we use it for
Only to run the leaderboard and the community chat. We do not sell or share your data with third parties. We do not show advertising based on your personal data.
Moderation
What is posted in public spaces (the wall, the general chat, the tournament chat, the chapter chats) and in open groups goes through automatic moderation — text, photos and voice messages — that runs on our own server and hides offensive content. Private messages and private groups (which you can only join by invitation or with an admin's approval) have no automatic moderation at all. Everywhere you can report a message and block a person, and a group admin can remove anyone.
Microphone and voice
The app only uses the microphone in three places, and in all three the system asks for your permission first. If you say no, everything else works the same.
Live voice (Arena and Trivia Hour)
- What for: to talk with the other players while you play a match, like a group call.
- How it travels: in real time, encrypted, directly between phones or through Cloudflare Realtime servers (TURN/SFU), which only carry it. The audio does not go through our servers. On a direct connection the other phone sees your IP address, as in any internet call.
- It is not recorded or stored. We do not record what is said or keep it anywhere, Cloudflare included. When the match ends the channel stays open on the results screen while people remain, to say goodbye; it closes for each person when they leave that screen and cannot be rejoined.
- Who hears you: in a challenge sent to a group and in Trivia Hour, the members of that group who are playing the match; in a challenge sent by private message, the players of the match; in a challenge posted in the general channel (or joined from Live), only the players who follow you can hear you, and you only hear those you follow. If either of you has blocked the other, you never hear each other. Voice does not exist in the Kids' Club.
- You decide: in the Arena, when you enter the room the app turns the microphone on (if you gave permission) and tells you that others can hear you; in Trivia Hour you enter with it off. You can turn it off with one tap, leave the channel without leaving the match, mute anyone for yourself, and report or block them from the channel list. Whoever creates an Arena challenge can turn voice off, and in Trivia Hour the host decides whether there is voice and can mute anyone for everyone.
Bible study by voice
- What it is: a voice room to read the Bible as a group, started from a private message, a group or a link. Up to 12 people, for at most 60 minutes (90 if the host extends it); if whoever opens it has the Lion's Club, up to 30 people and up to 2 hours (3 if extended). It closes by itself if it is empty for 2 minutes, has a single person for 5 minutes, nobody speaks for 10 minutes and nobody answers the prompt, or when time runs out.
- The voice: travels like live voice: in real time and encrypted, directly between phones (with two people) or through Cloudflare Realtime (TURN/SFU), with credentials that only work for that room and are revoked when it closes. It is not recorded or stored anywhere.
- Who hears you: everyone in the room, except anyone who blocked you or whom you blocked. If the host blocked you, you cannot join. When you join, your microphone turns on only if there are 4 people or fewer; with more, you join muted. If you leave the screen or the app, the call keeps going — also with the screen off, like a normal call — until you turn off the microphone or leave the room; meanwhile you see a bar in the app and, on Android, a persistent notification with the microphone and a leave button. The same applies to live voice in the Arena.
- What is kept: the verses put on screen (reference, text and who put them up), who joined and for how long, the passage and the chat it was started from. They make up the study summary, which the members of that chat and anyone with the link can see on the chat card. They are deleted 180 days after the study ends. To know when it is night for you we keep your phone's time zone.
- Moderation: voice has no automatic moderation, because it is not recorded. Verses are Bible text chosen inside the app. You can mute anyone for yourself, report and block them, and the host can mute anyone for everyone. As in the rest of the app, private messages and private groups have no automatic moderation.
- The invitation link (elmasterdelabiblia.com/study/…): when it is opened we record the study code and the type of phone (Android, iPhone or other), without your name. If you install the app from that link, on Android Google Play passes the study code and who invited you to the app (Install Referrer); on iPhone, the download button copies the code to your clipboard and the app reads it once, the first time you open it. It is used to take you to the room once you finish the welcome and so that you and whoever invited you follow each other. On the phone it is kept for one day at most.
- Notifications: we notify you when someone starts a study in one of your chats (at most one every 2 hours per person, one every 6 hours per group and 4 a day), and the host when someone joins their study while they are out of the app. An invitation in a private message and the notice to the host arrive at any time, like a message. An invitation in a group, between 11 pm and 8 am your local time, arrives silently: it shows up among your notifications with no sound or vibration and without turning on the screen; if your version of the app cannot receive it that way yet, we do not send it at night.
- When you delete your account, your time zone and your notification log are deleted, and the verses you put up stay in other people's summaries without your name.
Voice messages in the chat
- They are stored on our servers, like chat photos, so the other person can listen whenever they want. They are at most two minutes long.
- Automatic moderation: in public spaces and in open groups, each message is transcribed on our own server (Whisper, without sending it to anyone) and the text goes through the same filter as written messages. If it is offensive, it is hidden and kept, with its transcript, for a person to review. Messages in private chats and private groups are not transcribed. Anyone can report a voice message, and then a person listens to it.
- How long: as long as the message exists. If you delete a voice message, its file is deleted from the server too and its link stops working; if someone had reported it, it is deleted as soon as the report is reviewed. Those hidden by moderation are kept only to review them and are deleted 30 days after the review is resolved.
- When you delete your account, all your voice messages are deleted from the server. Your other messages stay in the conversations without your name or photo.
Purchases
If you buy the Lion's Club, the payment is processed by Google Play or the App Store, not by us: we never see or store your card details. We only keep the receipt identifier so we know your subscription is active.
Where it is stored
On the developer's own servers. Reading the Bible, the trivia and the verse of the day work offline and send no data.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app (your profile → at the bottom, Delete account) or by following these instructions. Your account is closed: you can no longer sign in, your profile is no longer reachable, and you leave the leaderboard and the community lists.
Messages, posts and comments you had written are part of other people's conversations and stay there without identifying you: no name, no photo and no link to any profile.
